Walker hits Japan « Result #3 on Nov 28, 2009, 5:33pm »
Hello folks
Hav'nt posted for a while but wanted to give the heads up that Nick has been painting like a mad man on a whistle stop visit to Toyko and apparently left the city with nearly a dozen new pieces and some of them pretty epic indeed.
Re: The Last Morning After ? « Result #6 on Oct 18, 2009, 7:52am »
Not sure?? some on the banksy site reckon so.. It would be great if the Tokyo and Sydney TMA get released also, I would go for both of those.. not sure about this one yet?? Personally i like the vandal, although the new dawn was supposedly the last we were going to see the vandal - that's why the soldier is on this one. 2009 has been a great year for Neate, Banksy and a few other artists. So I am really looking forward to seeing Nick's new work and hopefully something new/fresh which him and no other artist has produced thus far... we'll see.. hope your all well....

Arts My Passion (artsmypassion dot com) sells a wide range of canvas art with categories including abstract, modern, Asian, African, and much more. Each piece is hand painted and gallery wrapped. They offer secure online ordering and free shipping to Canada and the USA.

Dont get the 'GET RICHQUICK'.. surely they mean 'WE ARE TRYING TO GET RICH QUICK' dont know much about the other artists prices... just converted the TMA, works out 1700 pounds!! ok you probably get a sh*t frame thrown in also.. I just missed out on the same print at Urban Angel in March for 750 pounds, gutted.. Oh hang on i have made a mistake guys.. the prices must be in zimbabwaen dollars LOL.. I going to call them right now to buy the 2 Ian Francis pieces, they are going to look great in my lounge...
then either follow these item sales religiously on ebay or learn to use the completed sales search feature.
or... just spend some time reading through the post on banksy.info sales section
you'll quickly see the current market prices.
AP makes no real difference to pricing, it's the little extras on these that will give you the difference between these and the stock releases. Add percentage upwards from the regular releases.
try auction houses for sure but loads has not been making reserve of late... or the eBay route of course will give you REAL market value
Best of luck with the sale either way.
just to let you know that both of these a/p's have now been sold for the price that i was looking for - they have gone to a good home where someone will appreciate them a lot more than me and i can now purchase the item that i have been after for a while now, so evreyones a winner!
in regards to studying ebay and completed listings - i have been using ebay for 4 years and have sold over 500 items on ebay, no disrespect but i do know how to use completed listings - my valuation on these a/p's was always realistic but as i origially stated - there are potential buyers who try to manipulate sellers into undervaluing certain pieces of art and if i didnt get my price i wouldnt have let them go and the other thing - these two a/p's really arent the sort of thing for ebay or i would have listed them weeks ago.
thanks to everyone on .info who was genuine with their enquiries but i am more than happy that they have gone to a serious collector who will most probably keep them for years to come.
Expresso Beans is great to see general trends but can be a pain coz it's in US$ (given that UK v US currencies have fluctuated so much in the last few years).
What's the going rate for a standard VA? I've been contemplating letting mine go.
Re: nick walker prints (wanted) « Result #42 on Apr 19, 2009, 1:52pm »
Personally i think the airways a/p tops the standard edition - i wouldn't sell mine for less than £1500, same goes for the hollywood a/p (not that i plan to sell them), although in contrast i prefer the standard edition hollywood to the a/p. The blue sky is a bit strong in my opinion. I can't see any difference with the V Vandal a/p to the standard print (same thing with ratatouille) so prob worth about the same on eBay..... £800 on a good day.

seriously man, they are insaaaaanely over priced, good luck.
seriously if empire state is selling for £1000plus for a standard edition 175
how is it that you come to the conclusion that these are insaaaaaaaaaaanely overpriced - no disrespect, just wondered where you are geting your pricing ideas from?
the previous idea about putting them into auction is probably right on the button but to be honest with you, i find it amazing how people try to manipulate potential sellers into undervaluing their product - even in this economic climate it would be ridiculous of me to think that these were on par with empire - from a quality and monetary point of view.
ok - i really appreciate all the questions and the interest however i am only interested in either cash or banksy or micallef
please no more trade offers for other artists - sorry!
many thanks as always

i am getting a lot of requests for images as i guess you guys would like to see the differences from the a/p edition to the standard run so i have uploaded these for you to compare - please excuse my photography skills or lack of ! thanks

News for you all....... « Result #62 on Mar 26, 2009, 7:29am »
Hey All,
April brings a new book from Nick, published by Drago it's called " A sequence of events " Nick has produced 96 new works which make up the pages of the book and you may well have seen a few of the images / stencils recently but the vast majority of the published works will be new works. As you'll see by following this link http://www.dragolab.com/uk/store/a-sequence-of-events_66.html the book is being produced as a sort of flip book so you can follow the acts of Vandalism .......a nice touch !
Also in May there will be a show at The Black Rat Press where a number of the originals from this new book will be on sale. Also planned is a print release of one of the new images from the book. The show will also act as the formal book launch where Nick will be present and do a signing for those who'd like a nice signed copy.
I'm sure this will be another fantastic show from Nick and Black rat, originals, a possible print and a book....happy days
Yes mate you are the third to echo the recommendation for Steve at Frontier. I'd say that I'm a pretty good judge of character and he appears to be as genuine as they come. I've already given him permission to take photo's and use them on his website once they're framed and I'll also add pics to this site too.
I do remember a guy (wearing glasses i think) poking his head through the door briefly at around 12ish - was this you? I was stood by the counter at the time choosing the frames wearing a blue NY baseball cap.

Hey Mr Ed,
All good down here in sunny OZ, thibgs going well for us. It's been a good move and we're all glad we made the most of the chance we had. Snow..? My Gawd, I think I'd die now if it ever got that cold !
Anything below 20 here and " Jeez, it's bloody freezin today " ....I kid you not. Hope your well fella
Hi Maw, I can second or is it third what others have said on here that Steve will do a good job. I have used Steve for a number of years initially at Niche and now at Frontier. It is good to see Steve is starting to get more work as word get around. Currently have girlfriend's Dicy in with Steve for framing and a couple of insect DJ Shadow prints which I framed a couple of years ago and he is sorting out for me. Top guy. Popped in yesterday on off chance they might be ready, no luck will be ready next week . It was not you in there when I popped in around lunch time?
Look forward to seeing pictures in a few weeks time.
Mr Ed
P.S. Hugs how is it going in sunny Oz. You missed the recent snow in Bristol, few inches and whole place came to a halt!!!

Hi Hugs
Got the prints to Steve today for the framing - He's a top man, went through every step of the process in detail and i know he'll do me proud on them! He thinks i might hold the record for the longest distance travelled to use his services (130 miles each way) - well worth the trip though. Picking them up in around 3 weeks and will add pics soon after....

Ian,
Hello mate seen the work your selling vary nice, but budget a bit tight at the mo(baby and all) Anna is indeed still full week over now, booked in Friday to be induced so its coming out like it or not.... Glad you like the Empire,it is a big old peice and Steve really has done a cracking job, took some time putting up with only Anna around to help...although the extra weight helped with holding the step ladder!! Cant take credit for the fireplace, it was there when we bought the house, it is art deco specially if you could see the white and blue tiles that run down each side of the fire itself, saying all that though it's not original as our house is victorian...still nice though.

Now that is a very nice piece you all have there ! Good to see so many framed up and on the walls, it looks a big old piece of work.
Sean,
Like the look of that fire place as well mate, it's funny but living here with all the new houses you forget about period features ( original or not ) things like dado rails, picture rails, and nice fire places....we had all of them in our old place in Bristol...funny what you forget after only a couple of years. Yours looks very art deco ish with those features ...very very nice. We had a 1950's house with all of the original features in it when we bought it in 2000, we restored lots of it and I even managed to convince the wife to keep the cast Iron bath. I digress....lovely work boys. How's Anna ? Is she still full ?

Maw,
My advise is to ring Steve, number above on Seans post, speak to him, tell him your a forum member,Ian & Sean sent you etc etc , you have this print etc ...ask his advise, look at his site, I know he updates regular with work framed, he always asks permission before posting pics of your work etc on his site....Steve is the man.
Re: Framing « Result #92 on Feb 18, 2009, 8:11am »
Sean & Ian.....
Many thanks for all the tips & advice with regards to the framing. It sounds like i need to speak to this guy at 'frontier'.... According to route finder its around 135 miles away, but i'm prepared to travel for a good job. There only gonna get framed once so what the hell !! I quite fancy black frames with a white over black mount (similar to forum member 'gtf' who has posted somes pics of his London & Bristol. Another member posted pics of his Lifes 2 Short with a black mount which i think looks awesome so i'll prob go for that for mine.
Once i get them framed up i'll add some pics & see what you think.

Sean,
Tell him to put the kettle on and have a natter to the fella if you both have time, he's a good guy and a very tradesman. By trade he's an Engineer, fitter / turner like myself so he's a fussy sod about tolerances etc which makes him a good framer !

Re: Framing « Result #94 on Feb 17, 2009, 5:25am »
Maw,
I echo what Sean has already said. Do your home work and pick someone with a good track record of framing high value work. If you live in the Southwest of the UK your in luck as Steve really does do good work and has been for years. Of course, depending where you are is going to be the deciding factor here BUT wherever you go insist on acid free mounts and acid free tapes as anything else will cause nothing but damage to your prints.Always have a mount ( unless you float mount of course ) as this will keep the print away from the glass. Postioning of your print is also an important issue. Never place work in direct sunlight and away ( if poss ) from rads and fires etc as they will damage the print. Another tip I picked ( from Steve ) is to put someting on each corner of the frame to keep the frame away from the walls. He suggested the little sticky back tabs you use on dining chairs etc so you don't mark the floor, you know the things ? You can get them at Ikea etc for about £1 !!
This also helps the print if it being hung on an outside wall as outside walls will remain colder in winter and warmer in summer.
As for framing Nicks work and the choice of frames etc , take a look at the collections on here and you'll see some nice ideas, personally I reckon white frames are the way to go with a lot of Nicks work.......Hope that helps?

Hello Maw156
My Empire is being framed by Frontier Frames in Bath, this might not help you if your in Scotland say. I think its worth taking it to someone who knows the urban seen. I only walked into Frontier and Steve the owner new i had a Empire by the tube and i was the 4th person to go in there with one........price is depending on what you want, mine has 2 mounts over lapping, the top white the bottom the same grey thats on the print in a white rustic wood frame, normal glass for me as its not going to live in direct sun light, this is costing about £100, Frontier give 10% off to forum members. Obviously you can use cheaper mounts but they can mark the print after time Ive paid for all museum standard.
Hi all, Just looking to get some advice on the framing of my NW prints....they've been sitting in the portfolio too long and its time they went on the wall where they belong!! The 7 prints are: Empire, Life's 2 Short, Hollywood, Airways, Ratatouille, V Vandal and the original Vandal print. I want them framed to a high standard... uv glass, free floating etc etc.. Can anyone recommend a good framer? Any ideas roughly on the cost?? Is it best to go to a specialist in urban art or will any high street framer do? This message may sound dumb but tbh iv'e never had anything framed before and i'm a bit paranoid about it.... any advice or info that i can get would be much appreciated!!

Sean,
First off , congrats on the forth coming arrival, let us know what you get when it happens ! As for the Bristol scene, it's never going to go away is it, still strong and rockin after all these years. The place is a breeding ground for some of the best work out there today. Be sure to tell Steve your a member of the forum and he may give you a better deal, tell him I said so and pass on my best wishes to the fella...straight up, do that and see what happens. I promise you that he won't reach over the counter and grab your throat etc !! He's a good man and will take care of things for you.
Pass on my best wishes to Anna, be sure to have plenty of change for the parking meter...they even charge in the car parks at the maternity wards in Southmead now !

Seananna,
Bristol bod are you ?
I'm a Bristol boy now living in Australia. Seems a few new places are opening up back home, Friend and co. etc etc .
I'm pleased the scene is still alive and well and some of the boys and girls are coming to the fore ( Mr Jago, Rowdy, Dora,Sickboy etc etc ) and that the old skool are still producing the goods time and again.
It's good to see Bristol still at the cutting edge and even in these hard times new wrk and business' doing what they do best;.
Congrats on your new print, I maybe lucky enough to see 1 in the flesh one day but I'm sure it'll be worth the wait. Look out for local exhibitions in and around your neck of the woods, see if Nicks going along and if you can go meet the fella and have a natter with him. You'll find him happy to talk to you, give you his time and generally just be what he is.. a bloody nice bloke. Be nice to see some pics of the print when it's framed ( who's framing it for you / Have you tried Steve at Frontier framers in Bath )
